Billboard History

Erik Spiekermann is a founder of MetaDesign in Berlin, Germany’s largest design firm. Spiekerman also founded the Berlin-based collaborative, FontShop International, and has design offices in Berlin, London, and San Francisco. He is considered one of Germany’s premier authorities on type.

Besides designing Officina Sans and Officina Serif, his typefaces include Berthold Block, Berliner Grotesk and Meta.

Erik Spiekermann has written numerous books, including Stop Stealing Sheep & Find Out How Type Works , Adobe Press, 1993. He also collaborated on The FontBook, the most comprehensive work on typography.
